The project’s main objective is to respond to the needs of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to analyze massive volumes of heterogeneous and fragmented data effectively and efficiently for the prevention, investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses.

Multimedia Analysis and Correlation Engine for Organized Crime Prevention and Investigation

MAGNETO project:

  • is a European Union initiative funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 framework, thematic area of: Technologies for prevention, investigation, and mitigation in the context of fight against crime and terrorism (SEC-12-FCT-2017).

  • is coordinated by the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), Greece.


The project’s main objective is to respond to the needs of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to analyze massive volumes of heterogeneous and fragmented data effectively and efficiently for the prevention, investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses.


To this end, MAGNETO is developing a platform that comprises tools enabling LEAs to fuse and analyze multiple data sources, uncover hidden relationships among data items, assess crime trends, and achieve a better awareness and understanding of security-related situations.


As part of the MAGNETO project, the External Advisory Boards (EAB) comprises:

  • the Scientific and Technical Advisory Board (STAB)

  • and the Ethics Advisory Board (ETHAB)

The EAB provides input to the Deliverable D1.3: EABs’ Recommendations – Final Report. This report contains a review of the project, together with advice and feedback of the external experts on the final activities and results of the project.
